RAMSAR SITE SINCE 2001 - RED EARTH ESTUARY: 3960 visitors in 2011
Last year, 3,960 visitors came to Terre Rouge estuary including viewing
migratory birds, a number down compared to 2010 (4877 visitors). The
estuary of Red Earth is the first site to Mauritius appear on the Ramsar
list, since 2001.
The west and emerging south west offers opportunities for a wide variety
of activities that are thrilling, tantalising and muscle building.
These activities prerequisite a good physique and a lot of daring
because they are full of risks. A slight error may cost life or the loss
