Christian Mestry, artiste et producteur, présente, ce soir au Havana Grill & Pub de Curepipe et samedi prochain, 12 juillet, au Summer Beach à Flic en Flac, le troisième volume de Sega Folies. Compilation de morceaux aux accents de séga, modernisés et portés par des voix d'artistes locaux qui évoluent essentiellement dans le circuit hôtelier.
Le Salon Infotech, qui se tiendra du 6 au 10 août, est résolument tourné vers l’international. L’industrie tentera de profiter de la présence des représentants régionaux pour créer des perspectives d’affaires.
D’une petite foire annuelle consacrée à l’informatique, Infotech est en train de se muer en événement régional incontournable. La 15e édition, qui se tiendra du 6 au 10 août au centre de conférences Swami Vivekananda, à Pailles, sera plus que jamais tourné vers l’international. D’ailleurs, le thème pour cette année marque le coup : «Vivre le monde numérique». Tout un programme.
Le salon de beauté, de forme et de santé, le Wellness Festival se teindra du 27 au 29 juin au Freeport Exhibition Centre à Mer Rouge. Cette année, le festival comprendra plus d’exposants, des professionnels de la forme et de la santé. Le salon recevra pour la première fois une compagnie sud-africaine qui «introduira un équipement de dernière technologie dans le domaine du spa à Maurice.» Le Wellness Festival innove pour cette présente édition, avec une compétition de tecktonik, les 28 et 29 juin. Il comprendra aussi un Wellness Man & Woman Contest.
Prévu pour le 12 juillet, le concert de la lauréate de l’émission télé-réalité Popstars, Sheryfa Luna aura finalement lieu le 26 juillet à 20h30, toujours au Palladium à Trianon, confirme Gérard Letrouvé, initiateur du projet. Lors de cet événement, la chanteuse se produira durant environ une heure accompagnée d’un dj et de ses choristes. Suivra ensuite une animation nightlife jusqu’aux petites heures du matin.
Alors qu’une Rainbow March arpentera l’île le 7 juin, l’homosexualité est toujours sujette à controverses, à Maurice comme ailleurs. Entre incompréhension et mépris, lorsque les enfants choisissent une orientation sexuelle jugée différente, ce sont souvent les parents de ces derniers qui sont les plus désorientés… Réactions de certains enfants et parents.
«Très tôt, j’ai su que j’étais différent. Même si pour faire plaisir à mes parents au début je m’affichais beaucoup avec des filles, faire semblant d’être heureux me rendait, au contraire, extrêmement malheureux. J’étais totalement vide. Quand mes parents se sont mis en tête de me faire épouser la fille de ma voisine, une amie d’enfance que je fréquentais occasionnellement pour me voiler la face, je leur ai dit la vérité. Depuis, ils ne me considèrent plus comme leur fils, surtout mon père qui m’a définitivement rejeté. Même quand je le croise dans la rue, il fait celui qui ne m’a pas vu. C’est très douloureux. Mes sentiments pour mes parents n’ont pourtant pas changé, je les aimerai toujours. »

vous êtes fan d’Amel Bent. La chanteuse française sera sur scène pour un
concert unique, organisé par Hémisphère Events et Bao Communications à partir
de 20 heures. Petit changement pour le lieu en perspective. Le concert se fera

Le Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel présente son sixième
festival culinaire japonais qui se tiendra jusqu’au 31 mai au restaurant La Rose des Vents. Cette année le Labourdonnais accueille le chef japonais, Hiro San, qui vous présentera la cuisine raffinée du pays du Soleil levant.
La semaine prochaine Gérard Louis et son équipe promettent de faire la fête avec la deuxième édition de Boom Fiesta 2008 à partir de 19 h 30 à la Citadelle. Soyez au rendez-vous le samedi 31 mai au fort portlouisien pour une ambiance 100 % festive.
Du 18 au 25 mai, Naïade Resorts

Les billets en poche, les quatre garçons, Jean-Paul Azzie, Jean-Luc Juloo, Berny Barbe et Kevin Drack et leurs deux mentors, Thierry Françoise et Eric Rama, s'envoleront pour le Botswana en Afrique du Sud en août prochain. Ils représenteront Maurice lors du "Festival Power in the Voice".
Le graphiste Patrice Offman célèbre le patriotisme dans le cadre du 40e anniversaire de l'indépendance du pays. Pour l'occasion, il lance une carte géante sur le web. ses 100 ans à l’hôtel Dinarobin, au Morne, le 23 février dernier. Ingénieur de
formation, le Dr Noelke habite Hoitsee, en Allemagne. Le fait qu’un visiteur
choisisse Maurice pour féter ses 100 ans est un véritable événement pour la
destination mauricienne.
Après deux représentations à la Réunion, l'humoriste français Tomer Sisley viendra animer un ''one-man show'' à Maurice. Le rendez-vous est prévu le 15 mars prochain. Du fou rire assuré !
