Acquisition of 'smoke meters': polluting vehicles screened

The police force and the Ministry of Environment launched on Monday, putting into operation new opacimeters (smoke meters) to assess the density of the smoke emanating from the exhaust pipes. On this occasion, the Minister of the Environment, Virashawmy Deva, will assist in this exercise to be held on the highway.

Police have introduced two new hi-tech equipment to be used to better combat traffic pollution. This is opacimeters sound level meters and that the police already tested on various cars and other motorcycles in the presence of Environment Minister Deva Virahsawmy and under the guidance of DCP Beekhun.
