There are 15 public holidays in Mauritius every year.
Seven of them are fixed holidays:

The remaining public holidays are religious festivals with dates which vary from year to year.

Muslim festivals are timed according to local sightings of various phases of the moon and the dates given above are approximations. During the lunar month of Ramadan that precedes Eid Ul-Fitr, Muslims fast during the day and feast at night and normal business patterns may be interrupted. Some disruption may continue into Eid Ul-Fitr itself. Eid Ul-Fitr may last from two to 10 days, depending on the town or region.
Chinese festivals are declared according to local astronomical observations and it is often only possible to forecast the approximate time of their occurrence.
